Daikon radish is popular throughout Asia for condiments, pickling, fermenting, relishes, stir-fries and salads. Crunchy raw Daikon has a sweet and lightly spicy flavor, and is milder than a standard red radish. The flesh becomes tender and mellow-tasting after cooking. Use the greens to add peppery, pungent flavor.
Daikon prefers cooler temperatures, and will bolt to seed in hot conditions. Mulch well to retain even soil moisture. Germination 5 – 8 days | Maturity 8 – 12 weeks
